Setting Powder Silky

1 review

Reduce the look of shine, set foundation, and create a polished appearance with Sappho Setting Powder Silky. This talc-free loose powder feels feather light on skin and visibly refines the complexion. A dusting will keep skin from looking greasy and helps makeup to stay put. Made with jojoba oil and aloe vera for light moisturization, skin never feels dry or tight. Calendula and chamomile provide a feel of calming comfort that bestows a look of even skin tone and diminishes the appearance of redness. Licorice lends a look of brightness to skin and gotu kola improves the look of lines and wrinkles. Use this makeup setting powder for a satiny feeling finish that makes skin look flawless.

Lightly apply powder to skin to diminish the look of shine and skin imperfections. Also ideal for use over foundation to maintain coverage. Use Sappho Blush Brush for even coverage.

As a celebrity makeup artist, it wasn’t JoAnn Fowler’s intention to create a makeup line. After L-Word actress Mia Kirshner requested paraben-free makeup, Fowler searched for natural options to no avail. Upon researching the negative effects of toxins in makeup, Fowler struggled to find the performance she craved in clean formulas. With a few nudges of support from Kirshner, JoAnn followed the calling to formulate a green makeup line suitable for being on-set and Sappho was born. As head of the makeup department for The L-Word, she had the perfect canvas to test her formulas, and in the end named each of the twelve Sappho foundation shades after the female cast members of the show. Every detail of each Sappho product has been mindfully crafted, from the eco-friendly, biosphere-treated compostable tubes and glass foundation bottles, to the details of the mascara brush and melt-into-your skin formulas. JoAnn quickly proved that performance and luxury doesn’t have to suffer with safe products.

sets well, doesn't dry me out

I wanted a new setting powder, but one that would not dry my skin out. I have combo-dry skin with hormonal acne, so sometimes I need to conceal blemishes and set with powder. This powder is light, transparent (I have medium toned skin, so not sure how this would work on darker skin tones), and does not dry my skin out, nor does it settle into fine lines. I mostly use this for my T-zone, and on my eyelids, and occasionally on blemishes when I've applied extra coverage. It performs well through out a hot day. I also will dust this over just my T-zone where I've applied Honua's Malu SPF or Fitglow Vita Shield SPF just to tone down the glow a bit.
