Yasuni Face Balm

1 review

“A smoothing glow giver.”

- A.

Yasuni Face Balm from Earthwise Beauty was specially crafted with fruit oils that have particularly high and wide-ranging phytonutrient levels and enzymatic action to act like retinol on the skin, exfoliating and resurfacing it, but with none of the irritation, redness, or peeling often caused by actual retinol products. It is also an ideal balm for reducing the appearance of acne, blackheads, and oil production.

The star of this balm is its enzymatic mild exfoliation from fruit oils while also leaving the skin feeling nourished and supple. The açai oil exfoliates and resurfaces the skin similarly to retinol but doesn't over-exfoliate or cause redness or intense peeling. Yasuni also features buriti oil, which is exceptionally high in beta carotenes, helping sebum oil production so oily skin types can look and feel less shiny and reduce the appearance of blackheads and breakouts.

Apply day and night all over the face or just on the more oily, acne-prone, and blackhead-prone areas. Yasuni exfoliating and resurfacing face balm may also be blended with a few drops of a facial oil of choice for a looser balm.

A smoothing glow giver.

After a few days of using this, my skin feels like glass, but is not overly shiny and not at all exfoliating-- just resurfaced. I would recommend this product for those looking for the glow-giving and renewing benefits of an acid toner, and maybe even retinol or retinol alternative, but who have too sensitive skin to really use those products. The effects of this are quite comparable at least on me, and I cannot wait to see how this product continues to perform not only over time but also throughout my life as I age. The scent is earthy and leafy and dark with a hint of stewed cranberries and a slight twinge of coffee. Though it may sound wintry in appeal, it is truly a gorgeous lightweight smoothing and soothing moisturizer that I think I will use year around. I will say that the texture of this balm is quite thick and putty- like, so if you have trouble working it in, I would apply to slightly dampened-- though not overly wet-- skin. But it is wonderful to massage in, and the results are beautiful.
