I love Ayuna and I love Beauty Heroes, but this has to be one of the most disappointing and overrated products I've ever used, particularly given the hefty price tag. I resubscribed on the basis of a customer-service assurance that this product is suitable for darker skin. I'm on the medium-dark side, and I can definitely say that this is not the case. (Which is pretty ridic—it's 2019, Ayuna...you should know and do better.) The product leaves a white cast that is only alleviated by removing it altogether. Moreover, it pills like crazy (and I don't even use a lot of unnecessary products beneath it). It makes me wonder how much testing and refining was done before rolling Velo out, as I honestly cannot fathom using this product in any serious or long-term way. This is definitely a live-and-learn, never-again experience.
I am always on the market for a good SPF that is easy to use and effective. I wish this was one of those rare finds, but I unfortunately do not think it is anything close to amazing. And that’s mainly because of the pilling - if it weren’t for it, I’m sure it’d be a wonderful product. Then again, the pilling here is a major problem, and something I find hard to curb or prevent. It’s not that I haven’t had pilling happen before, of course I have; but this badly? Not really. I feel like as I’m trying to rub (I almost have to pat it in, in efforts to disturb the product as little as possible) it in and even out the lotion, everything is just balling up and effectively disappearing from my skin. I wonder if I even have any sun protection to speak of by the end of application. And yes - I’ve tried using it along with many different products, or as minimally as possible, and once even by itself. The pilling issue is certainly diminished when using Velo by itself, but that’s just not the way I intended to use it. I’m happy I got to try this in a box, instead of buying it myself- for the price tag, I’d be monumentally disappointed.
I'm still not entirely sure what this product is, does it provide spf? Is it an anti-aging product with tinted moisturizing properties? What I do know is that it feels amazing, I love the smell, and it compliments well under my tinted moisturizer. I agree with the review that the bottle could dispense better, seems to waste some each time getting caught in top.
I love this product. I mean, seriously love. It's (so far) the only facial sun protector that doesn't make my skin itch by the end of the day. However. If I'm going to pay to replace this product, I actually wouldn't, because of the packaging. The bottle is clunky, and just does not dispense well at all. There are air bubbles that the product to come out uncontrolled, and there is product all over the threading and inside of the cap. For an item of this price, I would expect to be able to control how much I use, and for there not to be this much product waste. Put this in a pump, and you've got a customer for life. Otherwise, the search for face sunscreen continues.
For me with fair tone of skin color, it is fit me, i just wonder if it has SPF protection or not as it is not mentioned clearly in the product description (may be it does and i just overlook??). A product wf color correction i always assume it will have SPF protection so i can skip the sun protection product in my daily routine where wf high humidity weather in summer.... By the way spill off problem could be solved in the future~
