I absolutely love this product. Generally, I struggle with Ayuna products because I find the signature scent a bit off putting. That said, I found that I love Velo, much to my chagrin, due to the price tag. It offers light coverage and I truly do prefer using this with a bit of concealer as opposed to foundation. I will be sad when the bottle is finished and I have to shell out some cash for a new one. For me, it’s a must have.
The title says it all. I wish the bottle was made of a material that was less bulky for the amount of product, particularly because I mostly need a tinted SPF on vacation. Carry-on liquids need to fit in a quart bag, so small sleek packaging is key for the user. I don't have significant troubles with the cap on the bottom, but I would prefer it on the top. Otherwise, this is the best tinted SPF I've tried, and is quite good for my (light) skin tone.
I have used this all summer as a single product to replace SPF + tinted moisturizer or foundation for everyday wear (just not if I am going to be out in the sun for long periods of time). I have found that this clumps a little if I use too much or apply serum right before - now I just give my serum 30-45 minutes to absorb and apply a small amount of this right before I leave the house and it's usually fine. I am pretty pale-skinned and this is a good match for my skin tone. I actually don't have any issue with the packaging - I just store it upside down (cap up) and it's fine. I find that pump dispensers end up wasting way more product and I can never get the last ~25% out so I like that this is a different design. I just wish Ayuna would use glass instead of plastic for their packaging!
I'm a big Ayuna fan and I enjoy using Velo instead of my foundation. It doesn't very light coverage but the healthy glow this provides is what I love most. My skin is light and this color is a perfect match for me. I take two stars off for the packaging that is pretty messy and the fact that this product seperates.
I love Ayuna and I love Beauty Heroes, but this has to be one of the most disappointing and overrated products I've ever used, particularly given the hefty price tag. I resubscribed on the basis of a customer-service assurance that this product is suitable for darker skin. I'm on the medium-dark side, and I can definitely say that this is not the case. (Which is pretty ridic—it's 2019, Ayuna...you should know and do better.) The product leaves a white cast that is only alleviated by removing it altogether. Moreover, it pills like crazy (and I don't even use a lot of unnecessary products beneath it). It makes me wonder how much testing and refining was done before rolling Velo out, as I honestly cannot fathom using this product in any serious or long-term way. This is definitely a live-and-learn, never-again experience.
