I've become a bit obsessed with all things Osmia. I was really hesitant to get bar soap for my face but I know Osmia products are effective. I'm dealing with hormonal acne and then maskne on top of that. I had several active breakouts when this arrived, especially along my cheeks and chin, and oddly my forehead(not a usual place for me). I have used this cleanser everyday at least 1-2x, depending on my skin's needs. (I also use the Osmia Gentle Mud Cleanser at night for my second cleanse). This cleanser was the only new product I really added to my routine. It's helped calm and clear my forehead, cheeks, and even some breakout on my ears. My skin feels clean but not stripped. It's definitely helped control breakouts.

I have sensitive skin especially in the chin and nose area -- keeping that area clean without further irritating it has been almost impossible. This bar -- which has properties somewhat like a a mineral mask -- has worked wonders. Not only does it reduce the extra oil in those areas without irritating it, pore size has dramatically been reduced. This has been one of those "miracle" products that really works for me.

Nice lather and minimal fragrance, but I found it difficult to wash off completely. I need to swipe with toner afterwards to feel truly clean.

Consider it soap "medicine"
Osmia was my first "green" beauty brand. I found the brand when I was struggling with per-**** dermatitis (POD), which is what launched my interest in clean beauty. This Black Clay Facial Soap was my first ever green beauty purchase. It was exactly what I needed at the time and it really, really helped clear up my POD. Once resolved, however, I found it too drying for my skin and have since moved to a milk cleanser from another brand. I have introduced my mom (60+) to this Black Clay bar, and she loves it. It has been great help to her skin and has calmed her rosacea. I continue to purchase it for her. I feel like this soap is quite medicinal. I think it works when you have an issue you need to address (like POD or Rosacea) but if your skin is under control, it might not be the right fit. Still, I highly recommend because it's made such a difference for both me and my mom.

Perfect
This is perfect for my sensitive, mature, redness prone skin. Other cleansers just irritate me to heck and back. As a bonus this has no plastic packaging and the paper it comes in can be recycled. A little goes a long way. This bar effectively removes mascara as well with only one cleanse. One bar lasts a long time so the cost is justified for me.
