Daily Acid Toner
Daily Acid Toner, an AHA liquid toning treatment that provides the appearance of resurfaced, brightened and softened skin, with a twist. The exfoliating blend of malic, citric, tartaric and glycolic fruit and flower acids are gently and effectively carried into the deeper layers of the skin via a synergistic base of skin-soothing, ultra-hydrating, pH-balancing minerals and plant actives from montmorillonite clay, sea kelp, Irish moss, sodium PCA, organic vegetable glycerin and hyaluronic acid. Galactoarabinan from the Larch tree encourages cellular renewal, while whole plant extracts of turmeric, calendula, chamomile, echinacea, and green tea deliver your daily dose of antioxidants. So, unlike most acid toners that sting more than they solve, Daily Acid Toner offers the feeling of subtle stimulation that, over time, resurfaces the skin, restores luminosity, and helps the skin appear plumper.
HOW TO USE ITAfter cleansing with Complete Moisture Cleanse, apply a quarter-size amount to a cotton round and spread evenly and gently over face. Follow up with the Hydrating Accelerator, Hydration Boost Concentrate, Active Infusion Serum, and finish with Vital Balm Cream.

I've given this 4 stars mostly because I haven't used it long enough to know if it's truly a 5* for me. When these products were delivered to my door my father was very ill and I was exhausted and otherwise distracted. So for once in my life, I just opened a product and started using it. All I was doing for a good 2-3 weeks was using the hydration accelerator and the acid, then marula oil. I have dry sensitive skin and am also used to acids that I 'feel' on my skin (to some degree). I felt absolutely no sensation-didn't care, kept using it...was a simple routine, non offensive scent and felt good on. Within days my skin was looking more alive and soft and clear than it had been looking considering how stressed and how little sleep I was getting. About 3 weeks in I decided I would take a week and finish off some older products I had been using. Within like 2-3 days, my skin looked stressed again and I actually got a couple spots (which is not that common for me). I went back to the JR acid toner and my skin has been balancing out again. So, that is a long winded way of saying this product is subtle (bc the changes were not drastic but definitely noticeable on my skin). I'm 50 and being able to use 3 products and that be it (not counting an at home peel every few weeks) and a couple night's here and there of a light retinol type serum...is really surprising and delightful to me. If it can stay this simple and keep up these results, it will totally be a 5* for me, soon.
The daily acid toner came to me in the monthly BH box. I have been using it here and there when my skin needs a bit of a surface boost. It feels gentle on my skin. I don't mind the smell. I would have preferred a spray dispenser. I do like this a more than some of the other exfoliating toners. This type of product just doesn't have a huge place in my skincare regime.
I ordered this directly from Josh Rosebrook the day it launched because I had been hoping he would come out with an AHA product to complete my JR routines. Also, I have some heavy duty acids, so I really wanted something that still helped to keep pores clear and products absorb, but was light enough to use anytime. This definitely fits the bill. First off, the texture is unlike any toner I’ve ever tried, which isn’t surprising due to the ingredients. The smell is reminiscent of honey, but still maintains the “signature “ JR scent and it looks and feels like honey a little bit (thinner consistency!). It’s VERY hydrating and gentle, so I think every skin type can use this, especially dry and/ or sensitive skin. I love the addition of the moss and clay, which I think helps in refining the pores and leaves such a hydrated yet clean feeling. During these very humid months my combo skin becomes oily so I need more exfoliating action once a day, but this is still great for daily use and I think I will love it even more in the winter. It’s too hot for me to use a lot of my usual products right now, but I have enjoyed using this after I cleanse, followed by the hydration boost concentrate and serum or at night same routine followed by a dab of the vital balm. Truly a unique product (I’m not doing it justice) and highly recommend for all skin types. Outstanding price point too!
This product is pretty disappointing. Acid toners are not usually my thing, so when it was touted as gentle, I hoped I might like it. I do need acid exfoliation sometimes. I don't feel this is a very special or effective product, despite the language on the insert claiming it to be amazing. It smells like apple cider vinegar. The dispenser itself is poorly thought out, requiring me to watch the product slowly dribble out until I have enough. That is more time than I want to spend on an acid toning step. I did not notice anything in the way of results, though my skin did feel warm (which I find unpleasant). Honua's Hawaiian Beauty Water is a better alternative--dispenses in a mister, lovely scent, highly effective. It is disappointing that this was chosen for the Hero product. I think a good box curation generally includes products that might be cost-prohibitive to blind buy. And the sidekicks were two repeat products that were also low value. I like the Hydrating Accelerator but the overall attitude of Josh Rosebrook's marketing and social media is a turn-off. I would prefer not to receive more boxes featuring this brand. I think there are a lot of better green beauty brands with a more positive outlook on the community that would benefit from the attention that being part of a Beauty Heroes box gives.
