ABOUT THIS BRAND
Kapua Browning, Founder of Honua Skincare has a family lineage known for protecting the land, water and farmlands of Hawai’i. Growing up, Kapua immersed herself in the study of Hawaiian botanical skincare, becoming a licensed esthetician and instructor. She and her husband Brandon, a Hawaiian Traditional Medicine practitioner, began crafting customized oils and tinctures for their clients using native Hawaiian botanicals. In 2016, they birthed a brand with only one given name: Honua. Through Honua, which means ‘earth’ in Hawaiian, Kapua channels her passion for expert-formulated skincare that incorporates native plants and farming rituals of Hawai’i, while giving back a portion of her profits to three organizations in her homeland: 'Āina Provide, Hoa 'Āina O Mākaha and the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative.Reviews

Sleeper hit
I am not sure how long I've been using Hawaiian Beauty water. I don't think it came in a Honua BH box, but around 2017 I think I got it as a gift? Anyway, this product along with the Pa'akai cleanser are workhorse products I am never without. This is gentle exfoliation without sting. The scent is pleasing. It's so versatile--I can use it alone, or mixed with the Pa'akai (most common way). I gave it to my husband for awhile, and it was this product along with Aloha Youth Serum and Olena Beauty Oil that convinced him that men can use and benefit from skincare too. He could see that he looked younger and more handsome if he exfoliated, and with Hawaiian Beauty Water, exfoliation is easy and free of sting, abrasion, or irritation. I love the pump top it now comes with. I can use it quickly in the morning--so convenient. I keep it in the house always because both my husband and I know we can rely on it. It's a great value as well.
Beauty Heroes®
Honua is so versatile and really great for everyone, we are so glad that both you and your husband are enjoying!

Love it!
I use it at night when my skin is feeling like it needs some exfoliation. I simply put a pump or two in my hand and then apply to those needed areas. I feel that it is gentle yet effective.

Effective chemical exfoliant
Before anyone bristles at the word "chemical" in the title, water is a chemical and I'm referring to chemical vs physical exfoliants. So yes this is a natural exfoliant that works quite well. I do enjoy papaya enzymes as a topical, chemical exfoliant over things like glycolic acid. My skin needs BHA exfoliation more though and I use a retinol a few times a week so I don't use this product particularly often as over exfoliation makes my skin incredibly sensitive. I use this just a few times a month to help with cell turnover and I can see the dead skin coming off on the pad when I use it.
A Disappointment
I really dislike the scent of this product. No matter how well it performs (and it does perform), the scent is enough to keep me from buying it again.
Quick exfoliation
After being introduced to Honua through the beauty box, I decided to try the Hawaiian Beauty Water as a quick exfoliant when I am in a rush. It definitely delivers. Once a week I swap my usual toner for this beauty water during my morning routine. Then, I moisturize and layer on my make-up. When I cleanse in the evening, my skin is soft and smooth. It has spent the day rejuvenating.
