I don't often need a mask like this, but this one got good reviews so I decided to try since my skin has been a bit greasy lately. It has a wonderful herbal/plant scent that is relaxing and enveloping without being overwhelming. The texture is luxuriously thick and creamy without being stiff; it went on easily with a brush and a heaping demitasse spoon's worth covered my face generously. It did not make my face feel dry or tight, and did not completely dry down. I did not feel the need to mist it as I do with most clay masks. It washed off easily and the jojoba and bamboo particles provided a very gentle physical exfoliation as I rinsed. You can make this scrub portion more or less vigorous depending on what you want. My skin was soft and plump afterwards. My oily areas were nicely reduced. This is similar in some ways to the Petal mask by Mahalo--a premixed mask that has exfoliating acid, hydrating ingredients, and a gentle clay. This one has a drier finish as well as a physical exfoliation component, but a similar concept. Really enjoy the fragrance.
I ordered this at the height of my skin freaking out during this stressful pandemic. I have used it for almost a month, using 2-3 times a week as my skin needs. My skin is typically combo with hormonal breakouts, and is usually dehydrated. But I has breaking out with painful acne, which is not typical. I needed something that would detoxify but not dry out my skin. This masque was recommended by BH staff. It calms breakouts, gently exfoliates, and yet my skin feels soft and hydrated after I rinse it off. I have a nice glow after using it. Sometimes I do a mini facial, using the Mukti 2-in-1 exfoliator and then put the masque on. Lovely!
