ABOUT THIS BRAND
After rising in the ranks as a natural product formulator, Laurel occupies an industry category all her own. Plant Shaman might more aptly describe her almost mystical intuition and reverence for the healing power of the natural world. A former sommelier, she relies on her highly trained senses and deep knowledge of growing practices to craft therapeutic-grade, high-performance skincare. As a leader of the slow beauty movement, Laurel’s namesake brand, Laurel Skin, is the creative expression of her strongest conviction: that beauty should be a loving, ritualistic practice with the finest raw, organic, farm-sourced and handcrafted materials. She harvests her ingredients for her Laurel Skin products from organic farms within a 100-mile radius from her Northern California studio, ensuring that her oils and infusions, each vibrant in color and bursting with plant energy, meet her exacting standards for organic plant-based skincare products.
Please note, Laurel Skin products are excluded from promotions including the Beauty Heroes member discount.
I have had a very stubborn patch of eczema on my thumb for months. On a lark, I asked for a sample of this balm while at the Novato store. After weeks of consistent application and then covering with a bandaid, the skin is healing and is almost back to normal. I'm a believer and have purchased the full size!
The other review is spot-on. Laurel’s Recovery Balm is one of those atypical products that can be used for a myriad of issues. Dry skin? Irritable skin? Too much sun? Itchy mosquito bites? This handles it all. Truthfully, it’s one of the very few products that I trust using on my kids or myself on a particularly skin sensitive day.
I use this on little rashes with my sons, as an eye cream most nights, lip gloss, and as a soothing balm for dry winter skin. It's quite literally cosmic. Laurel is a plant wizard.
