ABOUT THIS BRANDWhen her brother handed her a one-way ticket to Kauai for her 21st birthday, Leah Klasovsky knew it was the perfect place to relax and reset her body, mind, and spirit. What she didn't know was that Hawaii would offer her a fresh start, opening her eyes and heart to a world of beauty and possibility she had never imagined for herself. On the night she arrived, the island air wrapped her in a tropical, balmy hug. The morning light revealed lush mountain terrain, exotic wildlife, and blooming flora. She instantly felt that this new home was her healing sanctuary, and she decided to stay. Leah's path to creating Leahlani was paved with physical breakdowns and spiritual breakthroughs, but it was her instinctive decision to enroll in a holistic Esthetics program on Maui that gave her the foundational training she needed to bottle her passion and create a name for herself.
I love the scent of this product. The scent may be stronger than other oils, but I thoroughly enjoy the fruity smell. I do put moisturizer on and then add this over it at night and in the morning.
We couldn't agree more! We just love the fruity scent profile Mahina offers. So happy to hear you are also a fan!
I have used this oil in the past and think it is, like other Leahlani products, a sensory experience. I do find that the scent lingers but doesn't bother me. As for skin benefits, it gives my dry skin good moisture. My skin loves chia seed oil to keep my skin balanced, too. I do use other actives paired with whatever oil I use, so I can't speak to more than generally happy and plump skin. I like to rotate this oil through my regime every so often.
It's not easy to impress me with an oil. But Mahina Evening Elixir is not your average face oil. The lightweight oil spreads on like a light veil, and leaves a velvety finish that delivers just the right amount of dew - not greasy, but it doesn't just evaporate, either. The wow factor is the natural scent - OMG. It smells like a dream. There are no words to describe it. It's just the right balance of sweet, soft, fruity and floral, and not at all overwhelming. It's like a little aroma cloud that eventually drifts away, leaving only beautifully soft skin. I'm in love.
The experience of using this oil is very nice. It is quite emollient without feeling greasy. I tried it alone for a few days and I found that the feeling of my skin being hydrated and dewy lasted well into the next day (I use it at bedtime). That's pretty unusual for most face oils. The lemon/tangerine scent is yummy, although for me it is just a little strong for use on the face. I may mix it in with something else to lighten it up in future. I did not find it very efficacious beyond being hydrating, however. I'm in my early 40s and after using this alone for a few days, I could see that I needed to add back in my actives (bakuchiol and vitamin C) to get anti-aging results. This alone did not improve my fine lines. I'm glad I got to try more from Leahlani, but I'm not sure I will repurchase. I need more from my skincare than just great hydration.
