Vital Balm Cream uses powerful ingredients to offer the deep moisture feel of a balm, with the non-greasy and luxury feel of a cream. This multi-benefit moisturizer gives a hydrated and restorative feel to skin. Aloe Vera, organic ingredients and rich plant oils make skin feel supported and regenerated. Indian Senna Seed, also known as ’botanical hyaluronic acid,’ boosts the feel of skin repair. The result is a plumped, soft, and radiant appearance.

This feels like a reformation to me, compared to a version I had tried a few years ago, and I much prefer the texture and application of this version. Bravo! It can be a little much for my normal/sensitive skin, so I try to use small amounts and avoid areas prone to congestion. Other than that, it does what it says, and I find this to be a really nice moisturizer in terms of both performance and experience
This is my second jar. I really like it. My dry skin says this is a winner, plus I find the texture pleasing as an experience. I have a bestie with very dry skin, so I sent her a jar. She absolutely loves it and is now on her second jar.
I have combo, sensitive skin that is acne prone if I’m not diligent with my routine and staying away from particular ingredients. Because of this, I never used a balm until last winter when my skin was dehydrated for the first time. I purchased the Rare Indigo Balm from Mahalo because I use the rest of her products & love. I had bad experience with ML Blue Cocoon years ago, so I was amazed at how my skin soaked this up and how luminous and calm/ hydrated it looked and felt. I still use and love the Indigo, but I’ve also purchased Maya Chia’s and this Vital Balm. I really like this one because of ingredients (I personally love blue tansy for my sensitive skin) and the fact that it’s calming and deeply hydrating. This does have Shea butter, which is an ingredient I try to avoid, or use sparingly, so I only apply to my cheeks, forehead and from bottom of jaw down to chest. It does make my skin slightly oily, so I only use at night and when I’m using other JR products. Love this with the HA and the new hydrator from this month’s discovery box. I like, but will not repurchase (especially since I have a back up now). My HG is still Mahalo and honestly don’t see that changing (plus, only balm I’ve seen without Shea Butter or coconut oil!!!)
This was just ok, but the scent is horrible. Even if this were the best product in the world, the scent is so overwhelming! This is gonna sound crazy, but I think the scent is reminiscent of—-yes—-pizza. Weird, I know. But to me, I smell pizza when I put this on my face. It isn’t a bad formula. But the results do not justify the discomfort the scent causes me. And the scent lingers!
I have been using facial oils exclusively for a while now, but it just wasn't enough for cold, dry winters in California. I've been using the Vital Balm Cream since October 2018, and it's made a world of difference. No more flaky skin! I do layer it over or under another product (oil or serum) for extra hydration. I think this balm cream could work alone as a light moisturizer in the summer. The 0.75 oz size has lasted about four months with nightly use. Also, the jar appears to be opaque glass, not plastic; it's quite solid too. I think it smells quite lovely!
