ABOUT THIS BRANDViolets Are Blue was created because of a personal need for skincare that was natural and safe for the body as well as the environment. After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in 2011, founder Cynthia Besteman’s successful career in New York City real estate came to a halt. While undergoing treatment, one of her first actions was to toss out all beauty products containing unsafe ingredients, leaving her medicine cabinet bare. She was shocked by the mislabeling of many beauty products and dove into the world of natural skincare and launched Violets Are Blue in 2015. Violets Are Blue provides 10% of all products purchased toward skincare donations for cancer patients. Cynthia also provides patients at the Mt. Sinai Dubin Breast Center in NYC with a gifted package of her Beloved line upon their first day of chemotherapy.
I have tried several (15?) different organic/natural deodorants of different brands with no luck. Some work for a couple of weeks and then I find it's not working, some had the worst reactions- awful, painful rashes. I do not have allergies to baking soda or essential oils, so I kept trying things out. I was literally giving up, but I found this one. I've been trying it for about 4 weeks now. There's no scent, it's a larger deodorant stick and it's not super slick. Most importantly, IT WORKS. I stay dry, don't smell and I have no rashes or redness. There's no oily residue or yellowing of my clothes. I think the magnesium and tapioca starch are the key ingredients that work for me. It's so good, I'm going to buy one for my dad who has the same issues as me. If you're giving up on natural deodorants, try this one.
